Castelluccio
Love from Castelluccio, Padre
Castelluccio is a remote town around three and a half hours from Rome. The landscape is unreal, but what really made the trip were the people. We bonded with the locals, and one of them was with us throughout the trip, helping us experience Castelluccio in a way we never could have on our own.
But we came in February, which meant filming in short sleeve T shirts in sub zero temperatures. It was as cold as it sounds. We spent most of the trip freezing, had a very small window to shoot, and somehow came home with content we loved and a few stories that still make us laugh.
The plain in February, completely covered in snow and looking like another planet.
This place was always part of the story
Our founder's dad first came to Castelluccio when he was younger, camping in the wild and paragliding over the ridges. Years later, it felt right to come back and make our first collection here.
Shot on Portra and Gold, because the cold looked better on film.

Walking through the town was surreal. Much of it was still destroyed, but there was also a strange beauty to it. Somehow, the roll of film we shot there was destroyed too, and we only managed to recover one or two pictures. You couldn't make it up.

Nature does not soften here.
